General Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Assessment

    Our General Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Assessment offers a comprehensive mental health evaluation for children and young people, helping families better understand emotional, behavioural, developmental, and psychological concerns. The assessment is carried out by an experienced Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in a safe, supportive, and family-focused environment.

    During the appointment, we explore the child or young person’s current symptoms, emotional wellbeing, behaviour, school performance, relationships, sleep, and daily functioning. The psychiatrist will also review developmental history, family background, past medical or mental health concerns, and any relevant school or safeguarding information to build a full clinical picture.

This assessment helps identify a wide range of concerns, including:

• Anxiety and panic symptoms
• Low mood or depression
• Emotional dysregulation
• Behavioural difficulties
• School refusal or academic struggles
• OCD, phobias, or trauma-related concerns
• Autism, ADHD, or neurodevelopmental presentations
• Social and relationship difficulties

    At the end of the consultation, you will receive clear feedback, an initial diagnostic opinion where appropriate, and personalised recommendations for treatment or further support. A detailed written report is then provided, which may include therapy recommendations, school strategies, parenting guidance, and medication advice if clinically indicated.
