Initial ADHD Screening Appointment

Treatment Name

Initial ADHD Screening Appointment

Time Duration

60 Minutes - 3 Hours

Our Initial ADHD Screening Appointment is the first step in understanding whether ADHD may be affecting you or your child’s daily life. This appointment is designed to provide an early clinical evaluation of symptoms such as inattention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, emotional regulation difficulties, and executive functioning challenges. It helps determine whether a full specialist ADHD assessment is recommended.

Before the appointment, you may be asked to complete screening questionnaires and rating scales, along with forms from a parent, teacher, partner, or someone who knows the patient well. These tools help our clinician build a clear picture of how symptoms present across home, school, work, and social settings.

During the consultation, the clinician will discuss:

  • Current symptoms and daily challenges
  • Childhood developmental and educational history
  • Emotional wellbeing and co-existing concerns
  • Family and medical background
  • School, workplace, or social functioning
  • Whether further diagnostic assessment is needed

The appointment usually lasts 60–90 minutes and concludes with clear guidance on the next steps, which may include a full ADHD assessment, QB Check testing, behavioural support strategies, or referral for other mental health services if needed. A brief summary report can also be provided to support onward care planning.
